LOOK YOUNGER WITH THESE MAKE UP TIPS

Some of us constantly worry about wrinkles and dark circles under our eyes but thankfully there are tips that we can use to make us look younger!

Lips – Forget the dark lipstick but instead go for a “glossy” look.  By putting gloss on your lips, it creates a more youthful look!

Eyes – For your eyes, pick a pencil eyeliner because it’s easier to use, it’s more precise and gives you more control. Also skipping out on the eyeliner on the bottom lid of your eye will help because it can drag the eyes down.

Foundation – When applying foundation, use your fingers instead of a brush so you have more control on how much product you are applying to your face.

QUICK DIY BEAUTY TIPS

Some beauty tip are just plain simple. So simple you can do it yourself. Here are some quick and amazing beauty tips for you.

(1)
For shiny hair, mix one egg with a mashed up banana and apply it as a thick paste to your hair. Leave it on for 10-30 minutes, depending on your hair texture. Then, wash it out as usual and use conditioner only at the ends
(2)
For soft hair, massage your head with rich coconut oil once a week, working it into your hair. Leave it in there for about three hours prior to washing it out with shampoo. Use just a dab of conditioner at the ends.
(3)
Once a week, use a natural honey face mask for softer skin and cleansed pores. Honey is a natural anti-bacterial and the best type to use is a raw honey, which usually has a sugary texture and doesn’t drip like processed honey.

(4)
If you have sensitive acne-prone skin, stay away from rich spicy foods, which only irritate and inflame your system.
(5)
Sleep. Staying up too late or not getting enough sleep wreaks havoc on your skin, causing it to look dull, tired, and likely leading to breakouts

MAKEUP CHANGES THE WAY PEOPLE RESPOND TO YOU!

Most of us know that first impressions count. But now it seems that you can change people's perceptions just by choosing the right foundation.
Some neuroscientist believe that imperfections can distract the brain, with the result that people with less than flawless skin are ranked lower on the social scale than they otherwise might be.
What's more, make-up can also help boost your chances of success in everything from career to love.

According to scientist, the links between make-up, appearance and the way people perceive others, the 'social triangle' - the area from the eyes down to the mouth is key to success.
'If the brain is distracted by imperfections [such as spots], it processes less and so has a weaker social assessment of the person it is looking at.'
Some scientist believe that those who wore make-up were seen as more likable, trustworthy, attractive and competent.

Even those with thick make-up, although considered less trustworthy, were still thought to be more attractive and competent than those wearing nothing at all.
Bad make-up just looks terrible and can be a hindrance: poorly applied and matched foundation or false eyelashes worn to the office, for example, is too much of a distraction.'

The solution? Keep it light & don't forget to save make-up free days for the weekend

DO'S) & DONT'S) OF MAKEUP

We always say there are no rules in makeup, and while we don't believe in rules, we definitely believe in guidelines. So many of us have experimented with our makeup in a way that leaves us looking overdone, cakey, orange or washed out. Below are some of the makeup do's and don'ts we have found to be helpful for all our clients

1)Do Use Mascara: Mascara has an undeniable effect that enhances, thickens, and elongate lashes. It allows your eyes to look bigger and more awake. Without it, your makeup application may look incomplete.

Do Not Apply Mascara Over an Already Dried Coat: There is nothing worse than spider lashes. Applying two or three coats of mascara over your lashes while they are still wet is my recommendation. Applying mascara over an already dried coat will cause your lashes to clump and stick together, giving you a not so attractive outcome

2)Do Highlight and Contour: If you naturally have a very round face. You want to make sure to highlight and contour anytime you know your photo will be taken. This allows your cheek bones to appear more pronounced, your forehead to look smaller, and your nose to look straighter.

Do Not Forget to Blend Your Contour: Unless you are doing costume or drag makeup there is no reason to not properly blend out your contouring. Spend a good 4 or 5 minutes buffing out your contour. This will eliminate the appearance of any harsh lines on your face and allow you to look more natural.

3)Do Use More Than One Eye Shadow Color: Using more than one color on your lid will create depth and dimension into your look. It also allows you to be more creative with your application. If done correctly it can make your eyes appear bigger.

Do Not Use More Than Three Colors on Your Lid: While it is good to use more than one color I don't advise using more than four. There isn't much real estate on our eyelids and using more than four colors can muddy the waters. We like to use two colors directly on the lid, one color as the brow highlight, and one as

the contour for the crease.

COMMON MAKEUP MISTAKES & SOLUTIONS

MISTAKE: UNDER APPLYING LIP COLOR
Remember: Lip liner is meant to define your lips and lip color, not act as your lip color. All though we admit that it was cool 20 years back, this look had its moment. On its own, lip liner looks way too hard.

SOLUTION:  COLOURING BETWEEN THE LINER
What lip liner is really meant to do: Hold your lipstick in check, preventing it from bleeding. After lining your lips, use the pencil to fill them in, then apply lipstick on top
 of the lip liner .

MISTAKE: WEARING LIP LINER THAT IS TOO DARK

SOLUTION: SOFTEN THE LOOK
To keep lip liner from looking severe or jarring, match it to the color of your lipstick. Another way to avoid telltale lines is to match the lip liner to your natural lip color. Use a creamy pencil for best results —if your lips have any dry patches of skin, a dry pencil will adhere to them, so the makeup will look patchy, not smooth.

At BMPRO studios we have a range of liners selling at N1K only. Visit a BMPRO studio today for more assistance.

MOST COMMON MAKEUP MISTAKES

Hi guys,

I am so happy to tell you guys our BMpro workshop was a blast. Here is saying a big thank you to everyone that participated.I will upload the pictures in a couple of days . In the mean time, check out the most common mistakes ladies make.

Sleeping with Your Makeup On
This might be the worst mistake you can make with your face. No matter how late it is or how tired you are, always take the time to remove your makeup before you go to bed. Besides the fact that you'll wake up with panda eyes, it's really bad for your skin.
Makeup clogs your pores, which prevents them from doing their job -- releasing sebum, which lets out dead skin cells and other irritants. When sebum isn't released, it builds up and results in acne. Leaving your eye makeup on can be even worse. It can cause irritation, an allergic reaction, or even an infection. Not really worth it to save those couple minutes, is it? Always clean the makeup from your face with a gentle facial cleanser.

Over-application of Blush
Too much of anything is overwhelming. This includes your blush. If you want the flushed look, smile and apply the blush to the apples of your cheeks. If you want a more structured look, follow your cheekbones and then blend the blush upward to avoid creating stripes. The thing with blush is that you can always add more. But if you've been a little overzealous in the application, try adding a little loose powder over the cheek to tone it down. Or gently wipe it away with a tissue. If it's a cream blush, try gently removing the excess with a clean makeup sponge.

Wearing Lip Liner That's Too Dark
There's nothing wrong with wearing lip liner. It has two functions: to keep the lipstick from feathering or bleeding, and to make your lips look bigger. However, many women make the mistake of wearing a lip liner that's much darker than their shade of lipstick. This was briefly a trend in the 1990s, but we mean briefly.
Also, sporting a dark outline of lip liner in contrast to a lighter lipstick will give you an odd ring-around-the-mouth appearance, which is simply not an attractive look. Use a lip liner that matches or closely complements your lipstick, or try a clear lip liner. For older women, a clear lip liner is best, because it won't noticeably settle into lines around the mouth as the day goes on.

HOW TO FIX CLUMPY MASCARA!

Let’s face it, this happens to every tube of mascara over time. The problem is it dries out and then starts to form unattractive lumps. To help prevent this, don’t pump your mascara trying to get more on your wand; you’re basically pumping air into the tube causing it to dry out even faster.

Although mascara should be replaced every 3 to 4 months. But, there’s an easy fix for that! Add a drop or two of Visine (or any brand of eye drops) into the tube, and then rub the wand around inside. The Visine softens the mascara liquid, making it apply as if it were a brand new tube!

Happy exploring.

DON'T FALL FOR MAKEUP MYTHS!

1

MYTH – To find your perfect foundation color, match it to your cheek, forehead, hand or wrist.

REALITY CHECK- Foundation MUST match your neck …and chest if you’re wearing a low neckline or a strapless top.  Due to exposure and environmental stress, the skin on our face tends to be slightly different in color (depth or tone), and does not always match the rest of our body.  A successful choice in foundation means the two colors must be matched perfectly so the face makeup looks seamless against the adjoining exposed areas of the body which are not made up. The best place to test for the correct foundation color is on the chin or jawline to see how well it matches the neck directly below it.

2
MYTH – Mineral makeup is better/safer because minerals are natural.

REALITY CHECK - Guess what …ALL makeup is made of minerals.  Mineral pigments are what give makeup products their color. What many people don’t know is that a mineral makeup might contain other ingredients harmful to sensitive skin and can even cause acne.  It’s important to read ingredient listings carefully if you have an existing skin condition …because even mineral makeup advertised as “good for you” can end up being bad for you.

3
MYTH – Use a concealer one shade lighter than your foundation to disguise under-eye darkness.

REALITY CHECK – A lighter color will accentuate the darkness and possibly make it look even worse.  Your concealer should match your skin-tone exactly to disguise under-eye darkness effectively.

4
MYTH – Use makeup to contour the shape of your face (nose, cheeks, chin, etc.).

REALITY CHECK – Up close and in person at a business or social event, people can tell when you’ve overdone the ‘corrective’ shading.  If you don’t do it carefully and completely blend highlight and contour you’ll look like you have stripes on your face. Also remember that bronzer and blush are NOT appropriate contour products.  BMPRO makes a special Kit that has realistic shading and highlight colors in an easy to use  formula.
